I finally got around to checking out the Comfy Cow’s new “Black and Brew” ice cream, a wacky flavor with a plus: 20 percent of all sales of the flavor during October 2016 benefit Louisville’s excellent Food Literacy Project.
First taste: “Eeeuw, this ice cream tastes like beer!” Second taste: “Mmm, malty.” Subsequent tastes: “Not bad!” It’s an offbeat mix of Goodwood Brewing Co.’s Walnut Brown ale, sweet cardmom honey roasted cashews, and seedless blackberry sauce. Mmm, beer ice cream.
